the "bucky" domes

ARMIDA WINERY…. WHERE WE OWN THE DOME!

You may ask what’s that dome thing on our label. That is a geodesic “Bucky Dome,” originally designed and popularized by R. Buckminster Fuller, an American architect who spent his life working across many fields such as design, geometry, engineering, science and education, in pursuit of making the world work for all of humanity. There are three Bucky Domes at the winery, housing the fermentation cellar, the barrel room and our hospitality center. They are a part of our everyday lives and remind us of some of Bucky Fuller’s most important postulates and lessons including “do more with less” and “never stop learning.” We also warmly embrace the dome as it symbolizes many facets of the whole, a sense of community and our interconnectedness with our friends, families, growers, customers and members.
